Palace Malice Back to Florida

Following a two-month sojourn in winter quarters in Aiken, South Carolina, Dogwood Stable’s Palace Malice arrived at trainer Todd Pletcher’s Palm Meadows barn on Tuesday, according to Dogwood Stable president Cot Campbell.

“Palace Malice had a beneficial stay in Aiken in winter quarters.  He trained every  other day during the first month here and trained daily the second month.  We had planned to breeze him January 4, but due to bad weather, we had to forego that.  I believe Todd plans to work him this weekend.

“Palace Malice is a great favorite in this area.  Five hundred people came out just to see him gallop on January 4.  Many came out to see him graze each afternoon.

“I salute Brad Stauffer, our Aiken Trainer, Gene Tucker his exercise rider and his groom, Daniel Negrete for their handling of the horse while in Aiken. We are pointing him for the New Orleans Handicap March 29. He has now amassed career earnings of $1,481,135, winning the Grade I Belmont Stakes and the Grade II Jim Dandy Stakes during the 2013 season.
