Storm Clean-up In Horse District

UPDATED! CREWS WILL BE WORKING UNTIL FRIDAY!

The City of Aiken has shared the following information with the Aiken Equestrian Community regarding storm cleanup plans in the historic horse district:

City of Aiken debris removal crews will be working along the dirt roads in our Horse District on *** Monday, February 24 and Tuesday, February 25. *** Our crews will begin debris removal at 9 am each day.  There will be considerable noise from chainsaws and large diesel engine trucks in the area until approximately 6 pm each day.

Please take whatever protective measures are needed to insure the safety your animals and staff.  In the event of an emergency conflict you can notify Public Safety at 642-7620 who can relay information to our Incident Command in the field.

Due to the large volume of debris, City of Aiken debris removal crews will continue to work in the Historic Horse District through Friday, February 28.  Our crews will begin debris removal at 9 am and continue until dark each day. In other storm-related news, Aiken Public Safety is warning Aiken residents about clean-up related scams in the area. These include people charging excessive amounts of money to clear branches and debris from yards and driveways.
